I told my mother, husband and sister because they came with me the day of surgery other then that one other close cousin. I did it this way because people have a negative effect towards surgery. My aunt and my friend had a gastric which is totally different I know but they look great but have been physically sick and also have had to have other sugeries and not able to conceived which is hard when you are just 26 and now you cant have babies anymore. So that is why I opted to keep it away didnt want people all in my business anyway _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w7cJrDJ/]

Hello All....
I had my surgery way back the end of March and it's been a while since I posted...thought I'd get back in touch with everything.
I started off not telling very many people. But now that I've seen the results I'm getting and people are really noticing the loss ('ve lost 40 pounds now)...I'm very open about it and when people ask me how I'm doing it.... I tell em! Like someone else said...usually they are very curious about how it works and I know of one coworker who is investigating it for himself and his wife based on my experiences.
GOOD LUCK! Whether you tell people or not...remember you are doing this FOR YOU! _________________ [url=http://www.TickerFactory.com/weight-loss/w2Q1hKA/]

I don't care who I tell. My thought is this, my life and I seek approval from no one. Perhaps, I am hard hearted or I really don't care what other people think? I know alot of gals at Curves know I did it and I think I started an epidemic of people having the Lap Band done. Even my Mom is going to have it done I am so happy for her she has a ton of illness from her obesity. On the other hand I can respect the privacy of others not wanting to tell. Everyone is different and I think there are alot of emotions behind obesity too!
I quite Smoking Sept 5th 2005, The last drunken part of alcohol was June 14, 2004. My last Diet Coke was Aug 7th, 2008. Now my last part of abusing food was Sept 4, 2008. Over the last few weeks I have been beside myself for the lack of addiction in my life. But I decided that I would REALLY LIKE ICE TEA now!~ lol
ok ok ok back to the point, I think it is different for every one. I just don't think that we have to hide anything. On the other hand my husband doesn't want anyone to know. My mom has only told me and my step dad. So I really believe that it is up to the person.
I just have a strong personality and I may just think differently...
Best wishes all

| At first, I was trying to keep having this procedure done in January a secret, but I have known my co-workers for going on 10 years, and I feel like they are my family away from home. Believe it or not. They said that they are glad that I shared, and when that time comes if I need help with the baby after I come home (since we are not supposed to lift anything over a certain amount of pounds and he is a year + already)that they would come help me and dad, or ride me around, or fix meals for the family becasue I might not be able to. These are the same people who did the exact same thing when I had my baby. You have to use your better judgement on when, and who. What it has also done was give me added encouragement to follow through with this procedure come January. I would not like to look like a foool telling everybody, and then not do it, and no weight loss occurs. I would be the big loser in the wrong way at that point. Smile! SO you just have to use your judgement, but I am setting the wheels in motion by telling all in my case. They are going to give me the encouragement that I know I am going to need, and they are now as I have lost what I already have lost. My personal cheerleading squad is what I call them. |

I told my family first then a few of my closer friends and co-workers. I don't feel I could do this without them being on board with this. I have a few months to go before I can have the procedure, but it was best for me to let the people I love the most know about it so that they would be more comfortable with it in the event that they had an qualms, issues or questions about it. They WAAAAY surpassed even my expectations. I honestly do admit that I thought I'd get a little resistence from my Dad and my best friend but I was wrong. They both cried with me. I couldn't ask for a better support system. _________________ Cindy
